Do You Believe In Your Guardian Angel?

Three days after my AstraZeneca vaccination, I started experiencing high blood pressure with hours and hours of discomfort. I was doing very well prior to my vaccination. Now, I had to take medication (doctor prescribed losartan potassium).

I have never prayed so hard for myself. I would hear mass online, pray the rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet, read the Bible, and all sorts of prayers to St Joseph, St Padre Pio and my guardian angel.

Angel On My Shoulder

As a kid, I used to sing Angel On My Shoulder by the Cascades. I had heard it over the radio very often then; somehow it has become a favourite of mine. Seated on a make-shift swing at the corner of our house, I was opening a candy, the back of the wrapper were written the lyrics of the song Angel On My Shoulder. In minutes, I was able to memorise the whole song. Since then, it has become my anthem.

Repeating Numbers

Oftentimes I looked at my watch, the time was 12:21. Sometimes 12:12, 18:18, 17:17 or 15:15. I googled the Net if there was significant about these numbers. Most websites would say that your guardian angel is trying to communicate with you. But what do they mean? So I started recording the time and any event that may follow afterwards to find out if the repeating time is actually saying something or nothing.

If there are meanings to these numbers, I believe they are personal – unique to every person. I simply consider them a call to pray.

Humming A Tune

Fear. The past two days were a suffering. I could no longer understand what was wrong with my body. I decided to consult a doctor. The doctor said that my blood pressure – 160/100 – was too high. So, she prescribed losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, whatever that is. My condition was not improving; I feared so much that I resorted to prayers.

One day, I started humming Eternal Flame. It wasn't even my favourite song but I was humming it the whole day. The next day, I was humming, not consciously, Healing. I can tell you the title now because I searched for it. But on that day, I was simply humming don't you know that your love is healing.

I could not remember the other song the next day. All I can remember now was that I was humming it's all right.

Recollecting the songs and the lyrics I was humming, I think that they are telling me something. Eternal Flame is like saying that God has heard me or is listening to me. Healing is telling me that I would be healed and that everything is going to be all right.

Then later in the afternoon, I was humming On This Day O Beautiful Mother. It was a Marian song that I learned when I was in grade school. The song goes like this:

    On this day, Oh beautiful Mother.
    On this day, we give thee our love.
    Near thee Madonna; fondly we hover;
    Trusting thy gentle care to prove.

I am theorizing that my guardian angel has been speaking to me through the songs that I would hum unconsciously. And on this day, my angel, perhaps is asking me to say a prayer of gratitude.
